At least 27 people killed and 20 injured after bus overturns in horror crash

 

At least 27 people have died after a coronavirus quarantine bus overturned on a highway in China.

The car, carrying 47 passengers, was on its way to the quarantine facility when it crashed in mountainous Guizhou Province.

Emergency services rushed to the scene in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police said 27 people were tragically killed in the attack.

The other 20 passengers were injured.

The incident sparked outrage online from those criticizing Beijing's "zero COVID" policy.

We are all on that bus,” said one user of the social media app WeChat.

Another said: "When will all this stop?"

It is not clear what caused the accident.

It comes after 19 schoolchildren were killed after a truck collided with a minibus on a highway in South Africa.

The tragedy occurred in the district of Pongola - about 300 km north of Durban - on Friday afternoon.

Terrifying dashcam footage showed the moment the truck overtakes another truck on the two-lane highway before hitting the minibus full of schoolchildren.

According to local media reports,

The minibus tried to swerve by the oncoming truck before it was crushed by the car.

Authorities said 19 children aged 5 to 12 died in the accident, along with three adults.
