A 37-year-old passenger on the flight from San Francisco claimed to have a bomb in his hand luggage,
A statement from the Ministry of Defense said.
She added that it later turned out that the bomb threat was false, adding that the suspect had been arrested and the police were continuing their investigations.
Singapore police said in a statement that the crew had restrained the man after he was accused of assaulting the flight crew.
He was later arrested under the fight
