A shooting took place at Whitmer High School in the US state of Ohio, during their game against Central Catholic High School, wounding three people with non-fatal gunshot wounds, including two adults and a juvenile, police officials said.

In a statement Oct. 8, Toledo police said shots were fired at Whitmer Memorial Stadium, Lucas County Dispatch reported.

After the shooting, the officer who was working on the game began to evacuate those present and search for victims.

Officers and deputies eventually discovered the three victims near the soccer field house.

With additional police crews arriving on the scene, Toledo Fire and Rescue services arrived and began treating the victims and transporting them to area hospitals. Once the scene is secured and it is determined that there is no longer an active threat,

Police said the school closure was lifted and attendees were allowed to leave.

Police said: “There are no suspects in custody at the moment.

“Last night was a horrible and shocking event.
