Israeli Soldier Dies In Overnight Attack In East Jerusalem

An Israeli soldier was shot and killed in an overnight attack at a checkpoint in east Jerusalem, the Israeli army said Sunday.

Earlier on Saturday, the Red Crescent said its medics treated five people near the Old City of East Jerusalem, including one who was hit by a rubber-coated bullet.

The occupation police said that the force arrested seven children and an adult suspected of "participating in disturbances, throwing stones and assaulting police officers" in the area, which resulted in an officer being slightly injured.
