Pakistani Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Tuesday blamed former Prime Minister Imran Khan for exacerbating the country's political crisis and said he had become irrelevant with regard to the country's foreign policy.

Fortunately for foreign policy, most of the world is happy to ignore Imran Khan,

Bilawal said during an event for a think tank in Washington, The Woodrow Wilson Center's Asia Program.

When asked about the toxic polarization in Pakistani politics led by former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, Bilawal said politics in the country is devastating.

"Internal politics is incredibly destructive,

And democracy only works if you want it all to work.

So it's not pretty but democracy isn't pretty anywhere."

Pakistan's foreign minister criticized the PTI chief for his political rallies, and advised Imran Khan to respect democracy and democratic institutions.

My advice to Imran Khan would be.. Respect democracy,

"Respect democratic institutions and do your job," Bilawal said in a statement during the event.

Imran Khan is one of the leaders of the country who was overthrown before they could finish their term. First, it lost its majority in the National Assembly after the PNP, a key ally, withdrew from the alliance.

He accuses the government of economic mismanagement.
