This is the terrifying moment when the roof of a badminton stadium collapsed during a 6.8-magnitude earthquake in Taiwan.


Dozens of people were playing on the fifth floor of a sports center near the capital, Taipei, just before 3 p.m. on Sunday when the devastating earthquake struck.


Shocking footage showed the roof collapsing in the middle of the match, causing players to flee for their lives in just seconds.


One man was injured by falling debris, while the others narrowly escaped the wounded.


The roof was reportedly only renovated in recent days.

Sunday's quake was the largest among dozens to rock the southeast coast of Taiwan since Saturday evening, when an earthquake struck 6.

Police and firefighters also rushed to a destroyed bridge in a rural area of ​​the same city.
