According to Khama Press, the Taliban planned to stone the woman who ran away from her home with a married man, on Friday, but before that she committed suicide to avoid public humiliation.
Officials added that the man with whom the woman had escaped was executed on Thursday, October 13.

Abdul Rahman, a spokesman for the Taliban's Ghor province police chief, said the woman was publicly sentenced to stoning due to the lack of a prison for women, Khama Press reported.
According to the Taliban security official, the woman strangled herself with a headscarf, ending her life before she could be punished.

With women largely excluded from the workforce due to the economic crisis and restrictions.
As a result, women and girls in Afghanistan face a human rights crisis, denied basic rights to non-discrimination, education, work, public participation, and health.

Even drivers of taxis and other urban transport services were banned from carrying and dropping off women without a mahram by the Taliban and a decree was issued against women's dress a month later.

About 80 percent of women working in the media have lost their jobs,
Nearly 18 million women in the country struggle for health, education and social rights.
Many women, especially those working in the security services, lost their jobs after the re-establishment of the Islamic Emirate.

The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) released a report in August,
Briefly summarize the human rights situation in Afghanistan since the Taliban seized power.

The reports summarized the findings of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan regarding the protection of civilians, extrajudicial killings, torture and ill-treatment, arbitrary arrest and detention, the rights of women and girls in Afghanistan, and fundamental freedoms,
and the situation in places of detention.

Amid this, the female officers' reappointment comes a glimmer of hope for women who face the country's many severe challenges.
