World leaders offered their condolences after 151 people were killed and 150 injured in a deadly stampede at a Halloween celebration in Seoul Saturday night. The disastrous stampede occurred as thousands, mostly young people and students, were celebrating Halloween in the narrow alleys of the capital.
Foreign Minister S Jaishankar mourned the victims of the tragedy, affirming India's solidarity with the grieving nation, saying he was "deeply shocked" by the loss of young lives.

US President Joe Biden said he was saddened by the loss of life and wished a speedy recovery to those affected.


The newly appointed Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak also took to Twitter to express his grief over the tragic stampede.


President Emmanuel Macron stressed that France stands with South Korea in grief as well.
"Sincere thoughts this evening to the residents of Seoul and all the Korean people after the Itaewon tragedy. France is on your side," he wrote on Twitter in French and Korean.
