According to reports, relations between the royal family and Prince Harry are in "almost rock bottom" and he may skip Christmas before his book is released.
Harry's book - who now lives in California with his wife Meghan Markle - comes at a sensitive time.
There has been intense speculation that the Prince could pull the veil off palace life and make a devastating revelation, or pull his punches in the wake of Elizabeth's death as Britain adjusts to its new head of state, King Charles III.
People magazine reported that in a statement about the memos, Penguin Random House said 416-
The book page will find Harry telling his story with "unshakable honesty".
They added that it is "a historical publication filled with insight, revelation, self-examination and hard-earned wisdom about the eternal power of love over grief."
The book is described as a window into how the prince dealt with the death of his mother, Diana, 25 years ago.
How has his life been affected since then?
Harry and his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, stunned the monarchy by announcing that they had resigned from their royal duties and moved to the United States in early 2020.
From there, they launched a series of critiques of their life in the institution, including allegations of racism.
This exacerbated tensions with his older brother, heir to the throne Prince William -
who was reported to have barely spoken to him - and to their father, now King Charles III.
Harry and Meghan now live with their two children, Archie and Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor, in California.
In July last year,
Harry declared that he had been writing memoirs that would expose "mistakes" and "lessons learned" throughout his life.
Harry said at the time, "I am writing this not as the prince I was born, but as the man I have become."
“I have worn many hats over the years, both literally and figuratively, and I hope to tell my story—the ups and downs,
Errors and Lessons Learned - I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think.
“I am so grateful for the opportunity to share what I have learned over the course of my life so far and excited for people to read a first-hand account of my life that is completely accurate and truthful.”
