Mohsin Shahnawaz Rangha, leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and a member of the National Assembly on Saturday registered an "attempted murder" case against the movement's chief and ex-Prime Minister Imran Khan, Geo TV reported.
The case was registered at the General Secretariat Police Station in Islamabad.
This comes a day after an attack on Ranga outside the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) office in Islamabad, where supporters of the movement protested the ECP's ruling by excluding Imran Khan in the Tuchakhana case.
Rangha stated in the FIR that he was attacked when he appeared as a complainant in the Tuchakhana case before the commission.
When Rangha climbed outside the ECP, he was attacked "with intent to kill" at "the request of the PTI leadership," Geo TV reported, citing the FIR report.
Rangha stated that his car was also attacked by trying to break into it by smashing its windows.
The reactions to the Election Commission of Pakistan's decision to disqualify former Prime Minister Imran Khan in the "Tuchakhana" case came on expected grounds as the ruling party praised the ruling and was criticized by the movement.
While the ruling coalition applauded the decision, the opposition party Pakistan Tehreek-e-
Dawn reported Saturday that Ensaf remains optimistic before the Islamabad High Court.
Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, reacting to the incident, said the European Commission against Torture had done justice and urged the movement's leaders and workers not to take the law into their own hands. Imran Khan's myth of honesty and prudence has been shattered.
The nation witnessed how the Prime Minister's office was misused for personal gain."

Pakistan Peoples Party Leader and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto
Zardari, while speaking at an event in Karachi, described it as just the beginning and predicted that more such decisions against Imran Khan would come.
On the contrary, Imran Khan's PTI party called the decision outside the purview of the ECP, accusing the body of "bias," Dawn reported. PTI on Friday,
It also announced that it would appeal the decision to the Islamabad High Court.
PTI Deputy Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi described the ECP's ruling as "worthless" Imran Khan would continue to serve as the party's chairman as the commission had no jurisdiction to rule on such matters.
"We will appeal this decision in the Supreme Court," he said.
The General Secretary of the Central Party, Asad Omar, also responded sharply to the decision, saying that the sentence would not last even a few hours. “We were expecting this ruling.
Our lawyers are ready, the petition is ready and the decision will be challenged in the Supreme Court.
," He said.
First Vice President Fouad Chaudhry responded sharply to the ruling. While speaking to the media he said, "This is a wrong decision, the ECP cannot isolate Imran Khan. The ECP did exactly what we expected of them." He pledged, "Today is the beginning of the revolution. No one can dismiss Imran Khan. Only the public can do that."
Earlier on Saturday, PTI Chief Imran Khan moved the Islamabad High Court, challenging the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) order that excluded him in the Tuchakhana case, Pakistani media reported.
According to Geo News, the Chairman of Pakistan Insaf Movement (PTI) asked the IHC to announce,
Finding and holding an ECP order against the principles of law established in Article 63 of the Constitution.
Imran Khan also requested that the operation of the order be suspended and that further procedures be restricted until the final adjudication of the petition.
On Friday, the Election Commission of Pakistan, in its ruling in the Tuchakhana case, said,
Pakistan's PTI Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan was disqualified and ruled that he was no longer a member of the National Assembly.
In the Tuchakhana case hearing, Imran Khan's attorney Ali Zafar admitted that his client sold at least four gifts he received during 2018-2019.
“The gifts were sold for 58 million euros and their receipts were attached to the income tax returns that my clients submitted,” the lawyer told ECP.
Reportedly, gifts received by government officials must be reported immediately, so that their value can be assessed. Only after the evaluation is made, the recipient can take the gift,
