Heavy Fighting Around Two Donbas Towns, Says Volodymyr Zelensky
Heavy fighting is going on around two towns in Ukraine's Donbas region - Soledar and Bakhmut, President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Sunday.
President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Sunday that fierce battles are taking place around two towns in Ukraine's Donbas region - Soledar and Bakhmut.
"The main hotspots in Donbass are Solidar and Bakhmut," Zelensky said in his nightly video address. There is very heavy fighting going on there."
The town of Bakhmut has been the next target of the Russian Armed Forces in their slow advance through the Donetsk region since the capture of the major industrial cities of Lysechansk and Severodonetsk in June and July. Solidar is located north of Bakhmut.
