Iranian Troops 'In Crimea' Helping Russia War On Ukraine: US

Iranian personnel have been on the ground in Russian-occupied Crimea helping Moscow's forces conduct attacks on Ukraine with Iran-made drones, the White House said Thursday.

The White House said, on Thursday, that Iranian elements are on the ground in the Russian-occupied Crimea to help Russian forces launch attacks on Ukraine with Iranian drones.

“We appreciate that the Iranian military were on the ground in Crimea and assisted Russia in these operations,

White House national security spokesman John Kirby told reporters.

Kirby said that the Iranians in Crimea were trainers and technical support workers, and that the Russians were piloting the drones, causing significant damage to Ukraine's infrastructure.

Tehran is now directly involved on the ground.

The United States will seek by all means to detect, deter, and confront Iran's provision of these munitions against the Ukrainian people.
