China has identified bridges and villages along the highway linking Xinjiang and Tibet provinces after four of its military personnel were killed in a 2020 clash in the Galwan Valley with Indian soldiers, state media in Beijing reported Friday.
Their names now appear on road signs along the G219 motorway,
Which stretches from the Tibet Autonomous Region to the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, the state-run Global Times reported.

Along the G219 highway, 11 bridges are named after them along with their hometown, the report said.

The naming of the places in memory of the soldiers comes days after the Chinese military leader, Chi Fabao, announced,
Wounded in a clash in the Galwan Valley with Indian forces in June 2020, he attended the congress of the ruling Communist Party of China as a delegate.
Part of the video footage of the Galwan's clash with the Chinese People's Liberation Army that featured Xi was shown on giant screens in the Great Hall of the People on October 16 on the opening day of the Chinese Communist Party Congress that re-elected President Xi Jinping as the party's general secretary for a record third term.
