Reverend Lamore Whitehead has been arrested in New York, after roughing up a woman during Sunday mass.

In the footage from the livestream at his church, a woman of worshipers interrupted Whitehead, 44, before grabbing her by the neck to get her out of the frame.

The incident comes just months after Whitehead, who leads a local branch of Leaders of Tomorrow's International Ministries in Brooklyn, stole $400,000 at gunpoint while on duty while the thieves carried a firearm to his child's face.

After the last incident, the priest, who was wearing a Dior suit, was handcuffed and taken away by the police.

On Monday, local media reported that she was released two hours later.

Whitehead told the New York Daily News that police released him after "seniors" in the department heard about his condition.

The head of the church defended himself from the alleged physical confrontation that took place during his lively sermon,

Claiming to send a woman and an unidentified person to disrupt his service.

In a Facebook video posted after the incident, the pastor claimed that the woman had suspended his service in retaliation for lawsuits he filed against two YouTubers who alleged he was stealing money from his congregation.

He also said that the account of the physical incident was incorrect.

In a Facebook video, Whitehead said: "There are a lot of things happening and a lot of things that are trending [...

] and I want my church and people to understand where we are now."

“The NYPD failed me today and my church today.”

"This is a plot and an attack by the enemy," the priest claimed. “We had two people come into the church [sic] and some bloggers sent them in. They are nobody.

"The media has painted a picture of me as a villain, and I'm not.

“Today, there was an explosion in my church [...] My team did some internal research.

We know who sent them."

The allegations came after shocking video footage showed Whitehead being targeted by armed robbers who stole $400,000 of jewelry, including a $75,000 Rolex, a $75,000 Cavalier watch, and a $25,000 episcopal sapphire and diamond ring.

The NYPD said it was investigating the incident, and New York City Mayor's Office spokesman Eric Adam issued a statement in the wake of the crime.
